A drunk monkey – named Momo – is currently on the loose on the far east side of Indianapolis, according to police.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said two officers were dispatched a little after 6:30pm to the 500 block of Ironridge Court after receiving calls about an escaped monkey.
The monkey reportedly escaped a residence near Ironridge Court, just south of East Washington Street and South Mitthoefer Road.
Police confirmed some minor injuries have been reported in the Irongate neighborhood, but it is unclear if they were caused by bites.
Animal control officers also responded to the calls
A neighbor told police they spotted the monkey drinking a beer from a garbage can.
It has been revealed that the monkey’s name is Momo.
