Matthew Perry’s ex-girlfriend Kayti Edwards speculates that the “Friends” star may have relapsed in the time leading up to his death.

“I know Matthew and I know that he wouldn’t have just drowned,” Edwards told the UK Sun in an interview published Saturday.

“I think he might have taken pills in the week leading up to this.”

The former model claims to have briefly dated Perry in 2006 after meeting at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.

She alleges they remained close after their fling ended and that she even worked as his assistant in 2011.

On Oct. 28, Perry was found dead from an apparent drowning in a jacuzzi at his Los Angeles home. He was 54.

Despite initial toxicology reports coming up negative for fentanyl or meth, Edwards says “things aren’t adding up” when it comes to the details of his death.

“They said there were no prescription painkillers at the scene, which doesn’t surprise me, because he didn’t leave drugs lying around,” Edwards said.

As previously reported, no illicit drugs were found on the premises of Perry’s Pacific Palisades digs aside from a few prescription medications.

“He was paranoid and would take them all, so there wasn’t any evidence, and then go out for more when he was ready to.”

Edwards told the outlet that Perry’s final Instagram post had clues that point toward a possible relapse.

The comedian’s last Instagram post, taken five days before his passing, was a snap of him in the jacuzzi with the caption, “Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good? I’m Mattman.”

According to Edwards, Perry’s use of “Mattman” was allegedly a tell that the “Whole Nine Yards” star was using illicit drugs again.

“That Mattman thing was not something he did when he was sober. Mattman would come out when he was not sober and he felt kind of invincible,” Edwards claimed.

“I was around when he was getting high, although I was not getting high with him, and when I would say maybe he should cool it a little bit with the drugs, he would say, ‘No, I’m Mattman.’”

Edwards further claimed that Perry had an affinity for being in the water when he would drink alcohol or use drugs, alleging that a former neighbor once found him “naked and high in his [neighbor’s] swimming pool.”

“I had to go over there and get him out of his neighbor’s pool. He had a thing with water when he was doing drugs,” she claimed, adding that Perry was allegedly “always alone” when he did drugs.

A rep for Perry did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Edwards previously claimed to be a delivery driver for Perry at the height of his addiction in 2011, telling the Sun in a 2020 interview that she would pick up “cocaine, heroin and crack” for the actor while she was five months pregnant.

“I was like five months pregnant going down and getting stuff for him. He [would say], ‘No one’s going to pull over a pregnant girl. Don’t worry,’” she recalled.

In Perry’s memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,” the actor detailed his tumultuous decades-long history with drug and alcohol addiction.

The ’90s sitcom star got candid about the good, bad and ugly of his life in the throes of addiction.

“Not only do I have the disease, but I also have it bad. I have it as bad as you can have it, in fact. It’s back-to-the-wall time all the time. It’s going to kill me …”

Perry was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills on Nov. 8.
