If you grew up in the 1990s or early 2000s, you probably remember the sound that Windows 95 made when it started up. When you hear it, you can’t help but think it was a well-made piece of music.

Recently, people on social media felt a sense of nostalgia when an Instagram account by the name PC USER 486 posted the complete Windows 95 startup sound.

Surprisingly, the genius behind this masterpiece is none other than Brian Eno, a maestro of ambient music. Microsoft hired him in the past to bring this music to reality.

In the video, the user starts the old-school computer by pushing its buttons, and the clip proceeds to display the bright lights that used to shine during system startups back in the 90s. The soft crackling noise just before the calming startup tune enhances the feeling of nostalgia. Following a short pause, the well-known Windows 95 startup sound fills the room, bringing back memories of an uncomplicated time.
