On Tuesday, the Trump campaign slammed the “Biden Family Criminal Empire” after a 12-person Delaware jury found Hunter Biden guilty of all federal charges after being convinced that the president’s son knowingly lied on a federal gun form when purchasing a firearm in 2018.
“This trial has been nothing more than a distraction from the real crimes of the Biden Crime Family, which has raked in tens of millions of dollars from China, Russia, and Ukraine,” Trump campaign National Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement. “Crooked Joe Biden’s reign over the Biden Family Criminal Empire is all coming to an end on November 5th, and never again will a Biden sell government access for personal profit.”
Hunter makes history as the first child of a sitting US president to be on trial and the first to be found guilty of a federal crime. In recent days, Hunter has been joined by several members of the Biden family, including First Lady Jill Biden, his wife, Melissa Cohen Biden, his half-sister Ashley Biden, friend Kevin Morris, his aunt Valerie Biden Owens, and President Biden’s brother, James Biden.
The president’s son was found guilty of making false statements on ATF Form 4473 while purchasing his Cobra Colt .38 in October 2018. The jury also found him guilty of possessing a firearm while addicted to an illegal substance. Hunter Biden, who suffered from drug addiction problems during that period, pleaded not guilty to the charges against him, and he is likely to appeal the verdict. Hunter’s defense team attempted to argue that he didn’t lie on the ATF form because he believed at the time that he was addicted to an illegal substance like cocaine.
