“Biden should have a cognitive test,” Trump said. “No. 1, they say it’s unconstitutional. That’s a good excuse. He should have a cognitive test. And before the debate in two weeks, he should take a drug test because I’m willing to take one.” The 45th president also criticized the media for not accurately covering the 81-year-old Democrat’s routine gaffes and mental lapses. “Remember when Joe said, ‘It’s great to be in Idaho,’ and he was in Iowa?” Trump joked. “He always does that. If I ever did that, it would be over. They’d say, ‘That’s the end of his political career: He’s cognitively impaired.'”
As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Biden challenged Trump to a debate last month after the presumptive Republican nominee demanded the 81-year-old Democrat debate him “anytime, anywhere, and anyplace.”
“Donald Trump lost two debates to me in 2020, and now he wants to debate me again. Well, make my day, pal. I’ll even do it twice. So let’s pick the dates, Donald. I hear you are free on Wednesdays,” Biden said in his challenge, referencing the Wednesday recess in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s (D) case against Trump.
Following Biden’s viral video post on X, CNN offered to host the first debate on June 27th. Biden wrote, “I’ve received and accepted an invitation from @CNN for a debate on June 27th. Over to you, Donald. As you said: anywhere, any time, any place.”
The second debate, hosted by ABC News, was also scheduled for September 10th. President Biden wrote on X, “I’ve also received and accepted an invitation to a debate hosted by ABC on Tuesday, September 10th. Trump says he’ll arrange his own transportation. I’ll bring my plane, too. I plan on keeping it for another four years.”
